Missouri Inmate Seeks Clemency
   


 


AFTER 24 Years in a maximum security prison and having earned his Bachelor's Master's and Doctoral degrees all from behind bars, Jon Marc Taylor believes he has been rehabilitated.  He has expressed a desire to continue his work in the area of criminal justice reform, rehabilitation and education.

     Even though his name has the abbreviations BS, MA and PhD after it, he is still known as #503273, inmate from Crossroads Correctional Center in Cameron, Missouri.  Jon Marc Taylor, who grew up in Kansas and Indiana with a father who encouraged his criminal behavior at an early age and a mother who would rather have seen her son pursue the arts, Jon Taylor lifted himself out of this cycle to become what many scholars and friends who know him as "One of the most rehabilitated prisoners in America."  Through education, spiritual growth and rehabilitation, Jon has evolved owver the years to a level where his life philosophy is now "To always be in the process of becoming:  Becoming a better son, husband, father , friend, student, teacher, congregate and citizen. 

     He has state previously to news media and friends that his ultimate objectives after being released are to "earn a second doctorate in Adult and Community Education or in Criminal Justice & Criminology and to research, teach and become a nationally recognized expert on correctional rehabilitation, penal reform and criminal justice policies.

     Jon Marc Taylor's most recent accomplishment is to earn his Doctorate in Public Administration form Kennedy-Western University.  He is seeking clemency from his 40- year prison term from departing Missouri Governor Bob Holden.
